NEWS ANCHOR JOBS REGISTRATIONIllinois registration as a licensed nurse. Receives supervision from the Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, and/or the Nursing supervisor. Adhere to all facility and department safety policies and procedures. Function as a charge nurse by serving as a resource person to staff, answer questions, problem solve, and make decisions relevant to resident care.ġ2. Document nursing care rendered, resident response, and all other pertinent and necessary data as outlined in facility's policies and proceduresġ1. Recognize significant changes in the condition of residents and take necessary action.ġ0. Remain current in facility policies, procedures and nursing trends by participating in inservice and continuing education programs.ĩ. Assign nursing care duties to team members and ensure such duties are completed in an appropriate manner.Ĩ. Monitor performance of team members and become involved in staff development, evaluation and discipline when indicated.ħ. Participate in resident and family teaching.Ħ. Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills will allow you to function as part of the on-air team as well as work well behind the scenes.To be a weekend warrior staff will work doubles every weekend (Saturday and Sunday).As the anchor, you will have to quickly and adequately respond to these events. Ability to Improvise: There may be unexpected occurrences during live broadcasts.Reading Comprehension: A great deal of written material will cross your desk, and you must be able to understand it.Social Perceptiveness: This skill will allow you to anticipate your viewers' reactions to stories and improve your coverage of them.If you start as a reporter, as is very likely, writing will be a primary part of your job. Writing and Editorial Skills: News anchors frequently are responsible for writing the stories they are covering, especially in smaller markets.Active Listening: As an anchor, it is imperative to be able to communicate with reporters while on the air, as well as with your sources.Verbal Communication: The better your ability to explain a story, the higher the chance the public will be able to understand it.
